Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure an effective and standardised Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) across the specific sites within the area of accountability is established. Responsible to ensure the promotion and verification of appropriate BCM throughout their defined region and coordination of BCM activities, including alignment with applicable stakeholders at global, regional and local (site) levels.
  • Support the roll out and embedding of governance, ensuring implementation and coordination of the activities within the area of accountability. Support the manufacturing sites in implementing company BCMS standards (Global BC guidelines and other NTO related procedures).
  • Collaborates with the BC&NEM Global NTO Lead to ensure proper implementation of BCM within the area of accountability, including setting NTO and site specific BCM objectives. Develops BCM strategies for the Key Business Processes in scope of the overarching sites BC Plan.
  • Ensure the BC risk portfolio is in place for the relevant sites and tracks the risk mitigation actions, ensuring all actions and remediation measures are uploaded into the risk database. Ensure all sites within the area of accountability have fully compliant site BCM preparedness
  • Perform timely review and revision of the site BC Plans, ensuring alignment across the platform and with the overarching NTO BCM approach. Alignment with Supply Risk Management and participation in the Supply Risk Management workshops, for the products within the area of accountability.
  • Support the Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) process, by reviewing external supplier BC Plans and assessments. Review BC plans of external suppliers within the area of accountability, checking for robustness and triggering mitigation actions as applicable and in alignment with the sites / platform strategy
  • Review real BC incidents and near misses within the area of accountability. Lead root cause analysis and lessons learnt to ensure preventive actions in place. Ensure continuous improvement actions are in place. Support BCM audits as needed within the area of accountability
  • Maintain awareness and motivation for high BC performance of management and associates through a positive BC culture. Actively participate in Novartis BCM networks. Ensures proper alignment and coordination with NTO IT (for list of critical applications and IT Disaster Recovery Planning), within the area of accountability.
Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:
  • 12 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing/operations.
  • Experience in risk management or business continuity management is an advantage.
  • High energy level to drive improvements and changes with direct impact on business results. Strong interpersonal skills, especially influencing leadership skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills to allow effectively working in a matrix organization and multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Leader in developing clear, insight-driven communications for all levels (written and verbal).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; very strong business acumen combined with thorough program management and change management skills
  • University degree in technical or scientific degree
