Professional Services Revenue Accountant (Remote from India, 1:30 pm-10:30pm India time) The Professional Services Revenue Accountant will be the main liaison between the Revenue Order to Cash team and the Professional Services Operations Team. Working cross-functionally within the organization, this role will be responsible for translating billable hours recorded in the time tracking system into revenue and billings in the accounting system. The Professional Services Accountant will lead the FY23 integration between the accounting system and the time tracking system. This process is currently being done manually via Excel spreadsheet and therefore advanced Excel skills are required. The successful candidate must be an efficient self-starter with excellent organization skills, competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, results focused, with an ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Capture monthly/quarterly time entries from time tracking system and ensure they are properly recorded to revenue recognition
  • Properly accrue or defer revenue at month end based on time entries
  • Prepare and send monthly invoices for open projects
  • Partner cross-functionally with the Finance team to prepare backlog and forecast reports related to Professional Services revenue
  • Partner with Professional Services Operations team members to serve as representative for Revenue and Order to Cash team
  • Assist with integration between professional services time tracking system and accounting system
  • Oversee linkage of professional services time tracking system and accounting system once integration is complete
  • Reconcile tracked billable hours to revenue per the accounting system
  • Work in close liaison with the Professional Services group to resolve any issues related to time, expenses, and/or invoices
  • Work with members of the Revenue and Order to Cash team to resolve outstanding accounts receivable
  • Be a team player and cross-train as back-up for Accounts Receivable Analyst
  • Perform month-end and quarter-end reconciliations related to all Professional Services accounts including, but not limited to, Deferred Revenue, Unbilled Accounts Receivable, and Contract Assets
  • Other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years of work experience in related revenue accounting
  • Must understand revenue recognition rules as they relate to professional services under ASC 606 (Time & Materials, Fixed Fee, Milestone, etc.)
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Word, PowerPoint) Advanced Excel
  • Experience with our G/L system, Sage Intacct
  • Experience working with professional services time tracking tools, such as Mavenlink
  • Superior Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to flex communication style and to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Ability to build lasting and effective working relationships with both internal and external partners to drive resolutions
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; effectively balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Advanced analytical skills - trending
