to join our kitchen team. The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and service areas, washing utensils and equipment, and assisting the culinary team by ensuring all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and cooking implements efficiently and safely.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and storage areas.
Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are used correctly and safely.
Collect and dispose of kitchen waste according to hygiene and safety procedures.
Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation when required.
Replenish kitchen supplies (soap, paper towels, garbage bags, etc.).
Handle dishwashing machines and ensure they are cleaned and maintained daily.
Segregate and store clean equipment properly to prevent contamination or breakage.
Support kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards as per company policy.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Steward / Kitchen Helper preferred, but not mandatory.
Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
Physically fit and able to work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
Training or certification in Food Safety / HACCP (an advantage).
Experience in hotel or large-scale catering operations.
