Thalassa Greek Taverna is seeking an experienced, hands-on
Restaurant Manager
to oversee every aspect of our bustling seaside eatery. You will be responsible for maintaining revenue, profitability, and quality targets while ensuring an exceptional dining experience for every guest. You'll lead both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, setting the tone for superior service, operational efficiency, and a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Coordinate daily FOH & BOH operations to ensure smooth service flow.
Organize and supervise shift schedules; appraise performance and provide constructive feedback.
Control operational costs, identify waste-reduction measures, and optimize resource utilization.
Customer Experience & Quality
Deliver superior service, maximize guest satisfaction, and respond promptly to customer feedback.
Regularly review food and beverage quality; research and onboard new vendors as needed.
Balance dining room seating capacity to drive revenue without compromising service.
Team Development & Training
Recruit, onboard, and train new employees on service standards, policies, and safety protocols.
Lead by example during peak service periods, motivating staff to maintain high energy and morale.
Implement ongoing coaching to elevate productivity, teamwork, and guest-centric behaviors.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure full compliance with all sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen tools, and cleaning supplies; manage inventory levels.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both staff and guests.
Financial Management & Reporting
Create detailed weekly, monthly, and annual reports on revenues, expenses, and profitability.
Develop strategies to improve the restaurant's image and drive local brand awareness (events, promotions, word-of-mouth).
Analyze financial performance; recommend and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Requirements & Skills
Experience:
3+ years of total work experience in restaurant management (Restaurant Manager, General Manager, Hospitality Manager, or similar).
Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service at a managerial level.
Technical & Domain Knowledge:
Strong F&B knowledge; ability to speak confidently about ingredients, dishes, and pairings.
Familiarity with restaurant management software (POS systems, inventory management, scheduling tools).
Acute financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Education & Attributes:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is a plus.
