The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient service, and profitability. This role involves managing staff, maintaining quality and hygiene standards, handling budgets, and ensuring smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Lead, train, and motivate restaurant staff to deliver outstanding service and uphold brand standards.
Ensure excellent customer satisfaction by addressing complaints and feedback professionally.
Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and service to maintain consistency.
Manage staff schedules, attendance, and performance evaluations.
Control operating costs by monitoring inventory, minimizing waste, and optimizing resource use.
Oversee cash handling, billing, and POS transactions accurately.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and efficient service.
Analyze sales reports, set targets, and develop strategies to increase revenue.
Implement promotional activities, events, and marketing campaigns to attract and retain customers.
Maintain supplier relationships and ensure timely procurement of quality ingredients and supplies.
Handle administrative duties including payroll, purchasing, and reporting to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager in a similar environment.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution abilities.
Proficiency in restaurant management software (POS systems, scheduling tools, inventory control).
Solid understanding of budgeting, P&L management, and cost control.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment
Fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting.
Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of supplies (up to 25 lbs).
