Key Responsibilities

Guest Welcome:

Greet guests warmly, provide accurate wait times, and escort them to tables.

Reservations:

Manage bookings via phone and electronic systems, and maintain waiting lists.

Table Management:

Strategically seat guests to balance server workloads and maximize dining room space.

Communication Hub:

Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and managers to ensure smooth service.

Front Area Maintenance:

Keep the host stand, menus, and waiting area clean and stocked.

Customer Service:

Handle guest questions, special requests, and minor complaints professionally.

Support:

Assist with light duties like taking coats or helping servers during rushes.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Friendly, outgoing personality and a positive attitude. Familiarity with reservation software (often required). Basic math skills (for smaller establishments handling payments). Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
