Job Description

The Restaurant Hostess is the first point of contact for guests. She is responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing table reservations, and ensuring an excellent guest experience from arrival to departure. A hostess should present a professional and friendly demeanor and be well-versed in the restaurant's layout, menu, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome guests as they arrive in a courteous and professional manner. Manage reservations and seating arrangements using reservation software or manual charts. Escort guests to their assigned tables and provide menus. Communicate guest preferences and special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries) to the service team. Coordinate with wait staff to ensure smooth guest service and table turnover. Monitor the dining area to ensure proper cleanliness and ambience. Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor complaints promptly and professionally. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the restaurant's menu, promotions, and operating hours. Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times. Assist in setting up the host/hostess desk and maintaining cleanliness of the entrance area. Collaborate with restaurant management to improve guest satisfaction and efficiency.
