is responsible for leading the service team on the restaurant floor, ensuring smooth dining operations, maintaining service standards, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The role acts as a bridge between the service staff and management while also directly interacting with guests.
Key Responsibilities:Guest Service & Operations:
Welcome guests warmly and ensure they are seated comfortably
Take food and beverage orders accurately and ensure timely service
Ensure guests' needs are attended to and resolve any complaints promptly
Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction through attentive service
Team Leadership:
Supervise and guide waiters and service staff during operations
Conduct pre-shift briefings to assign tables, communicate specials, and set service goals
Train new staff on service procedures, etiquette, and menu knowledge
Monitor grooming and behavior of service staff to maintain standards
Coordination & Communication:
Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams for smooth food and beverage delivery
Ensure proper sequence of service and smooth flow of courses
Communicate special guest requests or dietary needs to the kitchen
Setup & Cleanliness:
Ensure the dining area is set up correctly before service (tables, silverware, napkins, condiments)
Monitor cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area during and after service
Oversee table resetting and preparation for the next guests
Billing & POS:
Present bills accurately, process payments through POS systems
Ensure cash and credit transactions are handled properly
Close checks and hand over end-of-day reports if required
Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food & beverage service, preferably in a supervisory role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent knowledge of food and beverage products, menu items, and service techniques
Ability to lead a team, multitask, and handle high-pressure situations
Well-groomed and professional appearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or certification in Hotel Management or F&B Service
Previous experience in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant
Basic knowledge of wine, spirits, and food pairing
Familiarity with POS systems and billing procedures
