We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented
Restaurant Captain
to lead and oversee the front-of-house service team. The Captain ensures smooth daily operations, exceptional guest service, and coordination between the kitchen and service staff. A key part of the role is to maintain high standards of hospitality while managing service efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and guide waitstaff and service team during daily operations and special events.
Greet guests warmly, present menus, and assist with recommendations and order taking when needed.
Ensure food and beverages are served promptly, professionally, and to quality standards.
Coordinate closely with kitchen and bar staff for accurate and timely order delivery.
Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns quickly and professionally.
Assist the Restaurant Manager with training new staff and monitoring performance.
Maintain cleanliness and proper setup of dining areas, including table settings and service stations.
Ensure adherence to hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
Oversee opening and closing duties of the restaurant.
Monitor table turnover and manage reservations or seating plans during peak hours.
Upsell menu items and promote specials or high-margin items.
Maintain and monitor inventory of service-related items (cutlery, linen, condiments, etc.).
Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar supervisory/service role in a restaurant or hotel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
Ability to lead a team and resolve conflicts under pressure.
Polished appearance and professional demeanor.
Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality training preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with POS and reservation systems.
Knowledge of wine and beverage pairings.
Multilingual abilities (if applicable to clientele).
