. The Captain will be responsible for ensuring smooth dining operations, delivering high-quality guest experiences, managing the service staff, and maintaining our traditional values of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome guests warmly, ensure they are seated comfortably.
Supervise and coordinate daily front-of-house operations.
Ensure efficient table turnover and oversee the seating arrangement.
Take customer orders, make menu suggestions (especially Indian regional specialties), and ensure accurate communication to the kitchen.
Maintain knowledge of all food items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and any possible allergens.
Monitor service quality and handle any guest complaints professionally and promptly.
Train, guide, and motivate waiters and support staff to deliver excellent service.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in the dining area at all times.
Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and correct order delivery.
Maintain billing accuracy and oversee the use of POS systems.
Promote daily specials, festival thalis, or chef's recommendations.
Manage reservation bookings and walk-in guests efficiently.
Requirements:
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a similar role in an Indian restaurant.
In-depth knowledge of vegetarian Indian cuisine (North & South Indian preferred).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities.
Well-groomed, courteous, and professional demeanor.
Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle pressure.
Proficiency in using restaurant POS software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hotel Management Diploma or Certification in Hospitality (optional but preferred)
Experience in managing traditional Indian dining formats (e.g., thali service, buffet, a la carte)
Multilingual ability (English, Hindi, local language)
Work Schedule:
Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
