Staff management
Recruit, interview, hire, and train bartenders and other bar staff.
Create employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
Supervise daily operations and delegate tasks.
Conduct performance reviews and address disciplinary issues when necessary.
Lead and motivate staff to provide excellent service.
Operations and inventory
Manage day-to-day bar operations.
Order and maintain inventory of liquor, wine, beer, and other supplies.
Develop drink and food menus, and oversee quality control.
Ensure the bar is well-stocked, clean, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
Manage and maintain bar equipment.
Financial and administrative
Manage the bar's budget and monitor costs.
Track sales performance and reconcile daily cash handling.
Oversee profit and loss, and report on financial performance.
Liaise with vendors and negotiate contracts.
Customer service and marketing
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and resolve complaints promptly.
Promote and implement marketing strategies, such as special events and promotions.
Foster a positive atmosphere for both customers and staff.
