The General Manager will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and financial performance of the property.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership
Direct and coordinate day-to-day operations across all departments: front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, spa/wellness, guest services, and outdoor activities (e.g., hiking, skiing, guided tours).
Ensure seamless guest service with attention to detail, personalization, and discretion.
Maintain the property to the highest luxury and environmental standards.
Guest Experience & Brand Standards
Lead by example in delivering warm, intuitive, and memorable guest experiences.
Engage with guests to build rapport, address concerns, and elevate satisfaction.
Uphold and refine luxury service protocols in line with brand ethos.
Team Development
Recruit, train, and retain top-tier hospitality talent, with a focus on local hiring and community integration.
Create a positive and motivating work environment rooted in collaboration and respect.
Implement ongoing staff training and development programs to maintain excellence.
Financial Management
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and KPIs in alignment with ownership goals.
Analyze financial data and oversee cost control measures to ensure profitability.
Optimize revenue streams (accommodations, dining, experiences, retail).
Sales, Marketing & Community Engagement
Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the retreat as a luxury destination.
Build relationships with high-end travel agents, lifestyle brands, and outdoor experience providers.
Represent the resort within the local community and tourism boards to strengthen regional presence.
Sustainability & Compliance
Champion eco-conscious operations and sustainable tourism practices.
Ensure compliance with all local laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Support certifications (e.g., LEED, Green Key, EarthCheck) as applicable.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Management, or related field; Master's preferred.
Experience:
7-10 years in hospitality leadership, with at least 3 years as a General Manager at a luxury property--experience in remote, mountain, or nature-based resorts highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong leadership with a guest-first philosophy

Financial literacy and strategic business insight
Comfort operating in a remote location with limited resources
Passion for outdoor living, wellness, and sustainability
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with luxury brands is mandatory.
