Job Summary:
The RMO (MBBS) plays a crucial frontline role in patient care, acting as a bridge between patients and senior consultants. In a teaching hospital, RMOs are also involved in academic support, clinical documentation, and mentoring junior residents and interns.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care
Conduct initial patient assessment and daily rounds under the guidance of the consultant.
Monitor patients' vital signs, clinical condition, and treatment progress.
Administer medications, IV fluids, and perform minor procedures as per protocols.
Ensure timely reporting of abnormal findings to the concerned consultant.
2. Emergency Management
Attend to emergency calls and ensure stabilization of patients in casualty or wards.
Provide first-line treatment in acute or life-threatening situations.
Assist in resuscitation and code blue situations.
3. Clinical Documentation
Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records and case notes.
Ensure documentation of history, examination findings, investigations, and treatment plans.
Write discharge summaries and update progress notes regularly.
4. Coordination and Communication
Communicate patient status, test results, and clinical updates to consultants and nursing staff.
Coordinate referrals to diagnostic departments and specialty units.
Act as a liaison between consultants, nursing teams, and patient relatives.
5. Academic and Teaching Activities
Participate in ward teaching rounds, CMEs, and clinical case discussions.
Support training and supervision of interns and junior residents.
Contribute to departmental audits and quality improvement activities.
6. Procedure Assistance
Assist consultants in bedside procedures, surgeries, and diagnostic interventions.
Perform basic procedures like catheterization, wound care, Ryle's tube insertion, etc.
7. Shift Duties & On-Call Support
Perform day, night, and rotational shifts as per duty roster.
Be available on-call for emergency situations or consultant requirements.
8. Patient and Family Communication
Explain treatment plans, progress, and prognosis to patients and their families in consultation with senior doctors.
Ensure informed consent is obtained for procedures and interventions.
9. Compliance and Protocol Adherence
Follow hospital infection control policies, patient safety protocols, and standard treatment guidelines.
Adhere to ethical and legal standards in clinical practice.

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?70,000.00 per month
