Job Purpose: This role provides exciting opportunities to lead and implement latest advancements in automation and control of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. L&T Water and Effluent Treatment (WET) IC, being a leader in water and wastewater solutions, maintains and services several customer assets encompassing distribution & supply schemes, smart water infrastructure and treatment plants. In addition to developing & providing world-class solutions, WET IC also specializes in maintaining customer asset health and performance. This role specifically seeks to provide greater opportunities in newly developing as well as retrofitting PLC/SCADA solutions, supporting integration with new online sensors and algorithms. Implementation of supervisory controls to fully optimize several critical performances of various assets and thereby achieve total plant automation will be the key activity. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work under the direction of head of Water Technology Centre on business-critical and time-bound research problems related to automation and control. Clearly understand the gaps in the product / solution and the differentiation thereby
• To understand the traditional approach of asset-based control implemented through regular PLC / SCADA for the existing water and wastewater projects. To comprehend the gaps and thereby improvements sought through fully coordinated total plant automation is necessary.

• 
  Be able to work with vendors and service agencies on installation and functioning of PLC/ RIO panels

• 
  Be able to implement new field sensors, update/redesign PLC and SCADA algorithms, test the performance both offline and online

• 
  Be able to lead seamless integration of control panels, HMI, PLC etc supplied by different vendors and ensure reliable outputs

• 
  Be able to implement end-to-end PLC solutions on L&T patented reactors/processes and integrate with cloud applications

Qualifications:

• Education: B.Tech /M.Tech in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or relevant engineering discipline
• Experience: Atleast 5 years of experience in process or water industries
• Specialized Requirements: Should be proficient in PLC coding, testing and implementation. Deeper knowledge on instrumentation and controls is necessary. Knowledge/experience on cloud/fog/edge controls is highly valued.
• Age: No limits

Working Conditions: Candidate will work from Water Technology Centre, situated in Kanchipuram. Will require at least 20% traveling to various places in India and abroad. Physical Requirements: No special requirements. Should meet the criteria required for this role as per L&T\xe2\x80\x99s policy.
