Job Description

The R&D mechanical engineer will be responsible for lab related equipment modifications, experiment execution and documentation / record keeping. Experiments will involve working with chemicals and equipment ranging from lab scale beakers, heaters and vacuum pumps to scaled-up reactors, scrubbers and furnaces. The R&D engineer will assist in equipment modification and scale-up related activities. His responsibilities include brainstorming technically creative ideas for need-based alteration of existing equipment and executing mechanical alterations in-house or through co-ordination with vendors / third parties. The R&D engineer will be responsible for procurement of items (chemicals and equipment) related to the lab/experiment. Requirements: 1. Degree in mechanical engineering 2. One to five years experience. Relevance: If the experience is in a R&D facility, candidate to demonstrate contribution to scale-up activities (from lab-scale to pilot plant) OR application of technical creativity. If the experience is in a production environment, candidate to demonstrate hands-on implementation of technical solutions to process improvements. Experience in working with chemicals is preferred. 3. Must be able to work in a factory environment. 4. The prospective candidate must be willing to interface with vendors and other design agencies as per experiment need. 5. Willingness to work extended/flexible hours depending on the experiment. 6. A two wheeler with valid DL is required for local conveyance to Vendor locations, Other Test LABs, procurement purposes, within City Limits. 7. Male candidates are preferred due to moderate-high physical demands of the work profile.
