JOB PURPOSE

Country Intelligence is a key growth area for Janes. We are seeking a Research Analyst to focus on political, economic, social and information risk environments for South and Southeast Asia.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering exclusive content and data visualisation sourced in innovative ways, with acknowledged subject matter expertise spanning geopolitics and regional and international security threats.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AT JANES

The Research Analyst will be able to research, assess and produce national security focused country reports as well as same-day and in-depth insight on South and Southeast Asian risk environments. Analyst will conduct extensive open-source research in the field of risk and national security to gather open-source intelligence in a structured format. THE IDEAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE FOR THIS ROLE

• The role requires an established analyst with at least 2+ years' research and writing experience on security issues, including both state and non-state threats, affecting South and Southeast Asia.
• A proven track record of writing detailed security threat reports on South and Southeast Asia.
• Knowledge of deep-dive OSINT research techniques.
• Excellent written English standards is must.
• Experience with interpreting and evaluating data to generate data-driven insight.
• Detailed and extensive knowledge of geopolitical issues impacting South and Southeast Asia.
• An effective team worker with excellent attention to detail.
• A body of previously published work relevant to this role.
• Educated to a post graduate degree level in a relevant discipline such as international relations or war studies.
• Proficiency in a foreign language like Thai and Filipino will be an added advantage.
