Primary purpose of the position: This position will be responsible for the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, facilitating, and coordinating releases to production across various applications and technologies. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects, and Programs. Where necessary providing the guidance, training tools and services to help delivery teams and project teams deploy releases into production. This position works with IT management to improve the delivery processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments. Responsibilities also include building and updating the Release Calendar in coordination with other IT applications leads and managers from all regions. The resource will assist with projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence to ensure the integrity of the release can be measured. Support demand/supply planning and alignment of the work to be done cross functionally
Oversees release changes into production through controlled promotion processes or documented support procedures; as much as possible, automates the configuration changes/updates to the production environment to promote efficiency and consistency
Responsible for working with service delivery management and capability management teams to align resources across different technology teams for solution delivery
Continually work with GSD Management and Business Process organization to harmonize and improve Release Management processes globally
Supports project management tasks, such as estimating and planning dependencies/risks
Participates in software release and post-release activities, including support for product launch and analysis for subsequent product build/release cycles
Monitor the SDLC process to make sure the proper level of documentation is created and reviewed according to the software development process guidelines prior to production deployment approval
Works closely with Enterprise Architecture team to ensure visibility to new applications being added to the Ball Corporation enterprise landscape
Provides quality assurance oversight that the release process is inclusive of updates to key IT support tracking and tools (Asset Management, CMDB, etc.)
Production releases are delivered on-time in full metrics
Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates
Acts as a liaison between other process managers (for example, project, KTLO, and BAU) to ensure process alignment
Creates and provides release status reports containing current and historical data connected with and related to production release items
Coordinate the Communication of the production deployment with other IT teams to ensure proper notification to business stakeholders
Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities; continually work towards making improvements in the release process
Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks and ensure all key management controls have been followed
Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
Assist ITSM Service Management Leader with other duties as assigned
Work closely with third-party vendors including software providers, implementation partners, and consultants
Assist the team with user acceptance testing requirements for existing and new business systems and modules

Position to reside within the Bangalore ODC
Flexible \xe2\x80\x93 working hours are expected to overlap with US Client hours (up to 1 PM MT)

Professional & Education Qualification
Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college or work-related experience
Job related experience for 4-5 year(s) minimum; 1+ years of team leadership;
Experience in working with global, multinational and remote teams, including off-shore, in matrix organization, with demonstrated ability to work across multiple critical paths and develop schedules in a collaborative environment
Solid Experience in various software development methodologies, e.g., Agile, iterative
Experience Project Management of software and technology solutions in large, complex organizations
Experience in driving process and technology re-engineering using industry practices, e.g., Six Sigma, Lean,Kaizen, COBIT, ITIL, CMMi
Skills
10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience including release management
Comprehensive knowledge of the full SDLC
Familiarity with Agile lifecycles and methodologies
Proficiency with ServiceNow, JIRA, and Azure DevOps
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple teams and coordinate cross-functional work
Knowledge
Working knowledge of the following areas:
System and business principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures
Generally accepted managerial practices and procedures
Programming, systems design, computer operating systems and utilities, project management, risk management, security, cost management, implementation and start-up of new business processes and computerized systems
Solid understanding of design tools preferably based upon industry standards, as well as software development methodology
Understanding of software quality principles, including test methodologies
Other Requirements
Guide and mentor 20+ teams with varying maturity levels in best practices related to release management
Function as a \'player-coach,\' actively participating in the processes while providing guidance and support
