Hiring for a renowned bank

Position Purpose:

- Managing the litigation(s) filed / initiated against the Bank, handling reporting to RBI, Board and other committee(s) and senior management in the Bank, advising/supporting internal stakeholders / branches on various legal issues and enquiries / investigation initiated by the law enforcement agencies, coordinating with external lawyers on legal issues. This is managerial position and involves managing a team of direct reportees.

Key Responsibilities:

- Managing the entire Litigations filed against the Bank and its officers for west Zone, along with the team of lawyers reporting to this position.

- Drafting and managing all documentation, legal notices, written statements, submissions, affidavits and processes for litigations / cases initiated against the Bank, its officers, appointment and coordinating with external advocates, appearing before the court, deposing before the court as witness, follow up with the advocates for various matters, etc.

- Understanding the matter including the underlying transaction and assist the business units / branches and other stakeholders in the Bank in drafting and finalising agreements relating to settlement, restructuring/ closure of matter etc.

- Handling enquires, notices and other investigations that may be initiated by any law enforcement agencies/regulators in the country; and appearing before them as may be required.

- Attending the Court hearings of cases filed specially before Court/ Tribunals etc.

- Maintaining of Reports & MIS, RBI reporting, preparing board notes with respect to legal cases, etc
