: As the Regional Legal Manager for Loan Against Property (LAP) at Kotak Mahindra Prime Ltd, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the legal integrity and compliance of our LAP business across multiple regions. Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating complex legal landscapes, mitigating risks, and providing strategic legal advice to support the growth and success of our LAP operations.
Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all legal aspects of Loan Against Property (LAP) business across assigned regions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies related to LAP.
• Provide legal advice and support to LAP business units, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Review and negotiate LAP-related contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the interests of the company.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business teams and legal departments, to align legal strategies with business objectives.
• Stay updated on legal trends and changes impacting LAP, and advise the business on potential impacts and required actions.
• Manage and supervise a team of legal professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality legal services.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions and identify potential legal risks and opportunities.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and meetings with external parties, including government agencies and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel and industry experts to leverage their expertise and network.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a legal capacity, with a focus on financial services or lending industry.
• Proven experience in managing legal teams and providing strategic legal guidance to business units.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills to guide and develop a team of legal professionals.
• Willingness to travel to different regions as required for business needs.
