Leadership teams: Part of Regional Leadership Team (RLT) for South Region headed by RM. Here is what your day at Unilever would look like Legal Strategy: Collaborate with General Manager, South and RLT of South Region to develop and lead implementation of legal strategy and support business operations for South Region. Provide expert and strategic legal advice to RLT leadership on legal matters such as impact of upcoming regulations, response to priority litigations, crisis management etc Corporate Advisory & documentation Providing corporate legal advisory on any legal issue pertaining to the Company Structuring, Drafting, negotiations with external counterparts on a variety of commercial contracts RS (Distributor) lifecycle management including onboarding, regulatory compliances etc for South. Compliance Support Monitor and support compliance of statutory and regulatory requirements in the region Recommend and formulate the general guidelines, checklists, and procedures to ensure legal & regulatory compliance Providing legal advisory on compliances, identifying legal non-compliances and advising on ensuring compliances by the Company. Litigation Management and External Counsel Management Strategizing, drafting, filing and providing necessary legal support with respect to litigations of the Company Build a network of and work with team of external lawyers, consultants and paralegal Ensuring effective representation in and minimizing cost of litigations Adherence to legal budget OPPORTUNITIES TO SPARK CHANGE. Advocacy & External Engagement External Advocacy with regulators and government authorities concerning legal/regulatory aspects. Team management Lead team of 4/5 - Legal managers / consultant / para-legal / CUC-Consultant Manage and monitor day to day operations of legal team resources. Combating Unfair Competition Pre-empt and minimize product counterfeits. Unilever Policy compliance and Cascades Lead and support internal investigations with respect to integrity issues for the south region. Awareness sessions and cascades for Legal, Integrity and compliances with internal and external stakeholders. Others Provide legal support to Legal and/or Business Projects assigned by the Company. The services would entail travel, including but not limited for litigation, regulatory and government engagement, issue and dispute management, etc Crisis Management and Support Such other tasks or activities as HUL deems necessary for the full and complete delivery of the tasks listed hereinabove. What are we looking for Holds a bachelors /masters degree in Law 10 years of experience as an inhouse counsel along with experience at a top tier law firm Should have prior experience of leading a team Extensive Legal partnership experience gained in comparable environments. Understanding of Contracts, litigation, Intellectual property rights, labour laws & Compliance is required. Complete understanding of Indian Law & Legal requirements
