R&D Team Lead

You will be working as a R&D Team Lead, and will be the part of Motion Business Area for Drive Products Division based in, Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be lead a team of Research & Development(R&D) employees and supports the team. Helps managing technologies, platform and intellectual property.

Your responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for the team and provides technical support for internal and external contacts, support the creation of technology and product roadmaps. Drive and fosters a culture of innovation within the team.
• Plan and ensure an appropriate project portfolio for the team, plan capacity, people, and resources for R&D projects. Oversee efficient, timely and quality project execution and ensure financial and content supervision over the projects. Recommend, develop, and improve processes, procedures, and tools to enhance team operations and apply, monitor appropriate development and quality standard.
• Stay on top of technology, innovation ideas and customer and market developments to provide inputs to projects. Evaluate market requirements and provide feedback to appropriate product, manufacturing, and R&D strategies and work with neighboring organizations and management ensure appropriate representation of needs for the R&D team to be successful.
• Support and oversee transfer of technology and knowledge within the team and the larger organization as well as with external resources and communities. Ensure appropriate documentation of knowledge.
• Build, develop, and maintain trust-based relationships with internal (other R&D units, product management, operations, business management) and external (customers, standardizations bodies, universities, etc.) contacts, represent R&D team towards various stakeholders to foster cooperation, actively contribute to scientific and/or technical oodles both inside and outside the company.
• Ensure action is taken to manage risks and that appropriate consideration 1s given to IP Issues when collaborating with other parties, responsible for risk and opportunity assessment and mitigation strategy in own area. Prepare annual budgets for the team in cooperation with R&D management and ensure efficient use of funds, support R&D project managers in developing project budgets.
• Manage and motivates assigned internal and external resources, applying ABB's HR policies, assign tasks to team members and supervises workload and work allocation within the team. Ensures appropriate staffing and skiIIing of the team and Its projects, e.g. by developing and acquiring competencies to support the development of future products and systems. Ensure talent management of the Individuals in the team, giving feedback on performance, coaching, development and career opportunities.

Your background

• Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering / Technology.
• 14 to 18 years of experience in Software Development, Project and People Management.
• Technical background in C, C++, C#, .NET, VS Embedded Platforms.
• Strong background in research and development practices and processes.
• Experienced in international and cross-cultural collaboration and leadership.
• Project management skills, with proficiency in leading development teams or development labs.
