What to Expect Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves nearly 66 million consumers and 4 million small businesses with a broad range of financial services through our 137,000 employees. The Point-of-Sale Fraud Strategy team within CCB Operations is an analytics team responsible for creating and maintaining the authorization strategy used for decisioning transactions while mitigating fraud risk across products like Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Commercial cards. The team manages authorization of 60 MM+ transactions daily translating into $1.5 trillion of annual credit and debit card sales and $0.5 billion fraud risk exposure to the bank across plastics The strategies leverage machine learning based fraud models, internal/external data sources , customer & merchant behavioral data along with statistical optimization techniques to help detect and prevent unauthorized fraudulent transactions across different third-party loss types, protecting our customers and the firm while also creating best in class customer experience at the Point of Sale Primary Responsibilities: Own and manage fraud risk mitigation strategies across credit card / debit card by synthesizing & analyzing complex transactional data and drawing concise conclusions regarding underlying risk dynamics, trends, and opportunities Collaborate effectively with Operations, BP&A, Loss Forecasting, Tech, and Risk Strategy teams for Loss Mitigation, Efficiency Improvements, Customer Experience and Capacity planning. Actively engages with Debit/Credit Fraud operations teams (Inbound/outbound) for improving decision quality and leverages the best-in-class analytical tools, algorithms, and capabilities. Simplifying and optimizing the queuing space for Operations teams by eliminating bad demand, improving efficiency, and streamlining processes. Assist team in managing critical machine learning & other score upgrades or refreshes that influence authorization strategies outcomes by working with internal / external modeling partners orassociations like Visa / Mastercard Continue to enhance the machine learning based fraud authorization strategy to ensure optimal outcomes across key portfolio segments while ensuring profitable return on investment goals Lead strategic fraud road map projects like full strategy re-design framework, decommission of model scores across decision engines, or decision engine decommission while integrating the best-in-class fraud detection tools, algorithms, and capabilities Monitor and maintain fraud authorization strategies to counter emerging attacks and trends across loss types and reduce false positives across Card Present / Card not present channels while meeting overall budget goals Develop new model input variables, profiles and expand data footprint / pattern detection techniques & other capabilities to improve accuracy of authorization decisions across functions Manage identity theftriskrelated strategies for Digital Wallets / Account take over type scenarios Partner with Claims / Recovery to improve recovery / customer re-bill rates via data driven analytical strategy enhancements Ensure compliance with existing control structure while also driving future enhancements to ensure successful closure of Strategy Audits or Matter Requiring Attention (MRA)items Engage / Collaborate with Chief Risk Officers across businesses, key partners within Operations, BP&A, Claims, Risk, Marketing, Tech, Finance and Product owners to share overall business performance and losses across all products Present clear & concise stories by converting complex data or analysis into presentations for senior leaders in various forums and influence outcomes Qualifications - Bachelor\'s degree in relevant technical or quantitative fields (e.g., Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, Business, Statistics, Operations Research and Economics). Master\'s degree preferred Prior 10+ years of work experience inrisk management, strategic analytics, dataanalytics or payments function from a banking or consulting domain Competent in the use of data technology to solve complex business problems, with hands-on expertise in the use of programming languages like Python/Hive, SAS, R, SQL, Unix and/or Teradata database tools Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with individuals across departments / functions and making recommendations to Senior management. Ability to create concise presentations and share performance insights on key metrics. Good multi-tasking skills with ability to manage and prioritize projects across cross-functional groups Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced energetic environmentand can adapt to changes quickly Ability to synthe / analyze diverse information, develop recommendations, and make decisions. Ability to maintain control oversight on key management forums/reporting.
