This role will serve as a strategic partner to developers, testers, product owners, and engineering leadership to embed quality-first thinking and automation into the software development lifecycle. You'll be a key advocate for test coverage, defect prevention, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate backlog grooming sessions to ensure user stories meet Definition of Done (DoD) standards and are testable.
Identify and document unit test cases aligned with DoD criteria and collaborate with developers to implement them.
Proactively identify quality risks and design mitigation strategies throughout the development lifecycle.
Act as a liaison between QA and stakeholders, ensuring test efforts are aligned with business goals and timelines.
Monitor pull requests for unit test coverage and analyze trends to drive continuous improvement.
Collect, analyze, and present key quality metrics, including Test Coverage (Unit, Integration, E2E), Defect Leakage Rate, MTTR, Automation Rate, and Sprint Defect Density.
Define and enforce approval gates across the SDLC to maintain release quality standards.
Oversee defect tracking processes, ensuring timely logging, prioritization, and resolution.
Lead retrospective sessions to identify process improvements and support actionable outcomes.
Collaborate with developers to ensure automated tests are integrated and maintained in CI/CD pipelines.
Conduct weekly syncs with QE Leads and Squad QEs to track progress, resolve blockers, and align on goals.
Lead monthly reviews with QE Managers, Architects, and Dev Leads to evaluate metrics and share best practices.
Develop and enforce a pull request checklist to uphold code quality before merges.
Ensure consistent implementation of runbooks and updates to Zephyr across squads.
Conduct quarterly performance reviews for QEs and maintain an up-to-date QE playbook and onboarding guide.
Promote the use of Ludwig methodologies to create squad-level heatmaps and monitor performance indicators.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing, with at least 2 years in a lead or coaching role
Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes and DevOps practices
Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Zephyr, Jira)
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks and CI/CD integration
Proven ability to collect and present quality metrics to diverse stakeholder groups
Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills
