A quality engineer is a professional responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards to ensure that a company's products or services meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations

Key roles and responsibilities

Create and implement quality standards

: Design and implement quality control systems and inspection protocols for products and manufacturing processes.

Conduct inspections and audits

: Perform regular audits and tests of materials, equipment, and processes to verify compliance with established standards like ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or industry-specific regulations.

Perform root cause analysis

: Investigate product and production issues to identify the source of defects or inconsistencies and develop corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.

Analyze data and report findings

: Use statistical tools and data analysis to monitor quality performance, identify trends, and prepare detailed reports for management and other teams.

Drive continuous improvement

: Apply methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency and product quality.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams

: Work closely with design, manufacturing, procurement, and supplier teams to build quality into every stage of the production life cycle.
