Job Title: QMS Executive

Department: Quality / Operations

Reports To: QMS Head / Quality Manager / Operations Head

Work Location: Surat

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose:

To implement, maintain and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with industry standards (such as ISO 9001) and company policies to ensure consistent product quality and regulatory compliance in diamond manufacturing, processing, and trading.

Key Responsibilities:

QMS Implementation & Maintenance

Assist in developing, documenting, and updating QMS policies, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions. Ensure compliance with ISO standards or other relevant certifications for diamond industry operations.

Quality Audits & Compliance

Coordinate and support internal and external quality audits. Conduct routine inspections to ensure adherence to quality procedures across all diamond processing stages (cutting, polishing, grading, packaging).

Documentation & Record Management

Maintain accurate records of quality reports, calibration certificates, inspection checklists, and audit findings. Control and update QMS documentation as per change management procedures.

Process Improvement

Identify non-conformities, prepare corrective & preventive action (CAPA) reports. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Training & Awareness

Conduct training sessions to create awareness of QMS policies and quality standards among employees. Guide staff on SOP adherence and best practices for diamond quality control.

Customer & Supplier Quality Support

Work with suppliers to ensure raw materials and outsourced processes meet company quality standards. Handle customer feedback/complaints and coordinate for timely resolution.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management frameworks. Understanding of diamond industry processes (sourcing, cutting, polishing, grading, certification). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good documentation and report writing skills. Proficiency in MS Office and QMS-related software. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

Graduate in Engineering / Science / Quality Management or related field. 1-3 years' experience in quality management, preferably in diamonds, gems, or jewellery manufacturing.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Number of successful internal & external audits. Compliance rate with QMS procedures. Reduction in non-conformities and customer complaints. Timely completion of corrective actions and process improvements.
