The role will focus, on supporting our Funds Open Ended team. The QA Manager will direct and manage the full QA project-life cycle, using SAFe methodology, ensuring auditable quality and traceability. You will be responsible for the delivery of the defined projects & changes for the clients, provide effective management to the teams and give guidance to key business users. You will be responsible for ensuring the testing aligns with the Apex global QA framework and that appropriate testing of requirements has been carried out.The QA team is currently located across the Apex Bulgaria office in Sofia and the Apex India office in Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore, offering smart working with working 3-4 days in the office, which can be tailored as required.Key duties and responsibilities

  • Hire, Manage, Coach and Mentor a team of QA Leads & Analysts, to ensure the team stays motivated and well managed.
  • Act as a Deputy Management Representative for the Head of QA in their absence.
  • Drive quality engineering, exploratory testing and test automation with a focus on improving our QA function and the quality of software delivery.
  • Lead and champion continual technical, process and procedural improvements that drive software quality and deliver value to our customers.
  • Champion the QA Policy & Strategy for allocated projects within the allocated Apex QA team.
  • Write project related Test Approach, where required, for large scale projects or programmes that deviate from the Function Strategy.
  • Be accountable for the management, planning, design and execution of all test activities, within your workstream, including system, integration and user acceptance testing.
  • Own the QA Project Timelines/Plans, within your workstream, ensuring that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets.
  • Perform test execution (manual and automated), where required, and provide clear and concise test progress reporting that is reflective of test program status for key stakeholders and executive review.
  • Monitor QA activities, test results, defects, root cause analysis and identify patterns and trends; providing insights and recommendations to improve software quality.
  • Confident in client / 3rd party supplier / vendor management.
  • Own the business/client introductions, roles, responsibilities and relationships for UAT.
  • Ensure QA process and methodology are applied at all stages during SDLC.
  • Sign off the Audit for all documentation that is produced during the QA SDLC for quality, storage, revisions and sign off.
  • Participate in requirements/design reviews with Product, Business Analysts and Development teams to assure that the product under development meets requirements and is tested efficiently.
  • Accountable for requirements reviews and traceability analyses to assess test coverage.
  • Progress and status reporting on a regular basis on overall Quality and Test phase metrics.
  • Managing and mitigating any project escalations, risks and issues.
  • Actively participate in lessons learned sessions to help improve QA process.
Experience and skills:
  • 3+ years of QA Management/Team Lead experience.
  • 7+ years of QA experience.
  • Proven track record of leading QA teams, and experience in implementing a range of test disciplines in a Waterfall and/or agile environment.
  • Good all-round IT Quality Assurance background from preferably a number of industries / domains.
  • Experience in both Waterfall and Agile, BDD, Dev Ops testing methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge (ideally hands-on) of Automation tooling and Automation frameworks.
  • Experience in developing metrics to access performance of the test team.
  • Experience coaching mentoring and hiring Quality professionals.
  • Experience in running UAT exercises with globally dispersed teams.
  • Good understanding of cloud (Azure) technologies, infrastructure, networks, firewalls & Citrix.
  • ISTQB Certification, Test Manager preferable.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and coordinate with globally dispersed technical and non-technical teams.
  • Very strong organisational and stakeholder management skills with ability to negotiate at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills and ability to build strong working relationships at senior management level.
  • Ability to act on own initiative with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to discuss required test scope with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Ability to work in a quickly changing environment, being very flexible as tasks and responsibilities may change.
  • Drives continuous process improvement especially in tooling, automation, code quality, testability & reliability.
  • Fluent in English speaking and written skills.
Nice to have:
  • ITIL, ISO 27001, SOX compliance or similar IT Service Management /QA /Auditing processes.
  • Experience in IT in a Financial Services organization.
  • Experience in Funds Industry
  • Understanding of Citrix infrastructure, including Application Layering.
  • Reasonable understanding of infrastructure, application architecture, networking and Active Directory.
  • Good understanding of performance testing concepts and tools.
  • Experience of using UiPath for Test management and Automation.
