Role Description
Role Description
We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer with strong analytical, automation, and data validation expertise to ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will combine SQL proficiency, Python scripting, and hands-on experience with Azure data assets and Linux environments to design, implement, and execute comprehensive test strategies.
Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases for data pipelines, APIs, and ETL workflows.
• Validate large-scale data sets using SQL queries and perform data integrity checks across multiple layers (staging, curated, and analytics).
• Build and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for regression and functional testing.
• Work closely with data engineers and developers to test Azure-based components (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Blob Storage, SQL DB).
• Perform API testing and validation using tools such as Postman or custom Python scripts.
• Monitor test execution in Linux environments, analyze logs, and troubleshoot defects efficiently.
• Participate in sprint planning, provide QA estimations, and drive continuous improvement in test processes.
• Ensure adherence to QA best practices, performance benchmarks, and data compliance standards.

Technical Skills
Technical skills requirements

• 5-7 years of hands-on QA experience in data engineering or full-stack environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL (joins, subqueries, aggregations, data profiling).
• Proven experience in Python automation (PyTest, Requests, Pandas).
• Working knowledge of Azure cloud ecosystem - including Data Factory, Databricks, Blob Storage, and Synapse.
• Good understanding of Linux shell scripting and commands.
• Exposure to API and backend testing in data-centric projects.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have skills

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Knowledge of data governance and validation frameworks.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification (optional).
