Job Title: Purchase Engineer (Construction) Summary: As a Purchase Engineer with 5 years of experience in the construction industry, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure that all procurement processes are in line with project requirements and company policies. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the construction projects are supplied with the necessary resources to meet project deadlines and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors for construction materials, equipment, and services. - Preparing and issuing purchase orders, requests for quotation (RFQs), and requests for proposal (RFPs) to potential suppliers and vendors. - Evaluating and comparing supplier and vendor quotations, negotiating terms and conditions, and selecting the most suitable suppliers/vendors based on price, quality, delivery time, and other factors. - Managing relationships with suppliers and vendors, monitoring their performance, resolving any issues or discrepancies, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services. - Coordinating with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines, and ensuring that procurement activities are aligned with project schedules. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and logistics, to ensure smooth procurement processes and timely delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site. - Monitoring and analyzing market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify potential cost savings opportunities and optimize procurement processes. - Maintaining accurate procurement records, documentation, and reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and industry standards. - Participating in vendor evaluation and selection processes, including supplier audits and assessments, to ensure supplier quality and reliability. - Keeping abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management, and providing recommendations for process improvements. Qualifications: - Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management in the construction industry. - Sound knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services, and their procurement processes. - Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to analyze and compare supplier quotations and negotiate favorable terms and conditions. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders. - Ability to work independently and in a team, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. - Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, and Microsoft Office applications. - Familiarity with procurement regulations, standards, and best practices in the construction industry. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and adapt to changing priorities. - Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), will be a plus.
