Job Description

Work Location : 2 to 3 Months working in Chennai, Thirumudivakkam
Permanent Work Location : Cheyyar (Kancheepuram)Role: Manager / Asst. Manager / Sr. Engineer- PurchaseNo. of Job Positions : 4Sound technical knowledge to understand the design requirements and Purchase specifications of the product / parts
Identification and development of new vendors complying with the policies
Development of new product / parts with existing / new vendors within the shortest possible lead time estimated for the given Project
Evaluation of vendors in terms of Functional (Delivery), Quality, Cost and Financial aspects for the long-term business association
Ensure compliance with procurement policy and procedures, monitoring and aligning to the changes as and when required
Self-driven, highly committed with high degree of ethical principles demonstrating a transparent working style in dealing with suppliers
Prepares, reviews and issues purchase orders
Proactively communicate with Sales staff, Project Management, and other departments.
Maintains manual or computerized purchase records.
Liaises with Quality Assurance to report defective or unacceptable goods or services.
Ensures that all contract procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner.
Maintains records of business transactions and product inventories, reporting data to the management, as necessary.
Travelling to the local / outstation supplier sites mandatory and be available outside of core business hours (remotely) to field urgent purchasing concerns
Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in procurement related processes and practices to improve efficiency and enhance effectiveness.
Support and coordinate procurement activities across all departments, including the management of all contracts and agreements.Background & SkillsB.E / B.Tech - Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
Preferred to have certification in Supply Chain Management related professional courses
12 to 14 years of experience in handling Purchasing of Castings, Forgings, Machined parts sourcing,
Sheet metal and Electrical / Electronic / Pneumatic Accessories
Preferred Experience in Machining & Fabrication processes
Knowledge in ERP systems and BOM Costing / Estimation
Strong Negotiating skill to achieve the cost targets
Fluent communication in verbal and written form in English is mandatory and preferred to speak regional languages & Hindi.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: ?400,000.00 - ?800,000.00 per yearBenefits:
