Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Supplier Management

Identify and evaluate new suppliers (especially for electronic components like PCBs, ICs, connectors, etc.) Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms

Procurement

Issue purchase orders based on production schedules or MRP (Material Requirement Planning) Ensure on-time delivery to avoid production delays Procure components such as resistors, capacitors, microcontrollers, semiconductors, etc.

Cost Control

Monitor market trends and component price fluctuations Find cost-effective alternatives or substitutes without compromising quality

Inventory Coordination

Work with warehouse/inventory team to maintain optimal stock levels Avoid overstocking or stock-outs

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate purchase records Ensure compliance with quality standards (like ISO, RoHS, REACH) Coordinate with quality control for component validation

Coordination with Other Departments

Collaborate with design, production, and planning teams to understand material needs Address component obsolescence and EOL (End-of-Life) issues

Required Skills & Knowledge

Skill AreaDescription

Electronics Knowledge

Basic understanding of electronic components, datasheets, and specs

ERP Software

Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or any industry ERP system

Negotiation

Strong vendor negotiation and communication skills

Market Awareness

Knowledge of global supply chain trends and shortages

Compliance

Understanding of import/export regulations, customs, and electronic component standards

Excel/Reporting

Ability to maintain procurement reports, price tracking, vendor scorecards

Typical Qualifications

Education

: Diploma/Bachelor's in Electronics, or Supply Chain Management

Experience

: 1-5 years in EMS or electronics manufacturing industry preferred
