The Opportunity:

HSBC Clearing Operations are currently implementing a programme to build a robust and scalable capability in ETD and OTC Clearing (OTC Derivatives traded through Exchanges). This includes but is not limited to:-

  • Implementation of next generation ETD middle-office technology solution and its associated operational workflows (CV
Tradeclear) * Tactical & Strategic ETD and OTC Clearing workflow solutions to enable House & Client business for new products and services launched by the CCPs
  • Monitor and delivery of Mandatory and Maintenance Change as required by the Industry
  • Further delivery of regulatory and business driven change on multiple Technology platforms (eg. ION XTP, FIS Intellimatch, Calypso)
  • To this end we require a Project Manager/Business Analyst to join the DCS Operations Strategy and Change Team to take responsibility for the delivery of Technology & Business workflow solutions to support the ETD and OTC Clearing.
  • This role will require thorough analysis of existing processes and flows, plus operational implementation, working with various areas of HSBC Technology, Front Office and Global BAU teams in Operations and, where applicable, external vendors and Exchange/Clearing Houses.
  • There will also be the need to undertake, where necessary, process reengineering activities such as the implementation of a \xe2\x80\x98Follow The Sun\xe2\x80\x99 global procedural model, whereby the day to day operational tasks are handled at optimal efficiency by leveraging HSBC\xe2\x80\x99s Global operating model.
  • There are currently several parallel projects to be managed in this space, so the successful candidate will be required to act independently and with flexibility; multi-tasking but still ensuring strong attention to detail, in line with HSBC project and control standards.
  • Ensuring that all analysis is performed to a high standard and in accordance with HSBC project governance principles (Change Framework)
  • Engaging with all internal project stakeholders to ensure requirements are met cost effectively while safeguarding ongoing investment into strategic vendor solutions.
  • Ensuring that all project documentation is produced to the highest quality, on time and with appropriate sign-offs obtained.
  • Working closely with colleagues in BAU Operations, Technology and the Business to ensure that processes are implemented appropriately & in accordance with stakeholder expectations and regulatory / compliance protocols

  • BA responsibilities - production of business analysis documentation, liaison with Subject Matter Experts to define current and planned business flows, prioritisation of developments and liaison with multiple stakeholders

  • Stakeholders sign off requirements and testing on time & change is successfully delivered into BAU

  • Ability to work with staff at all levels; to work with SMEs but also present to Senior Management
  • Support the relationship with key vendors to ensure effective delivery

  • Effective contribution to the global change programme in response to client needs
  • Evidence of a high standard of project management in projects, including standard of project documentation evidenced by appropriate turnaround times for requirements sign off and specification documents from vendors.

  • Strong relationship building skills \xe2\x80\x93 to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Ability to own and deliver projects from inception to post-delivery review
  • Global perspective
  • Strong Change management skills gained through at least 2 years dedicated change experience preferably in a similar environment
  • Good understanding of regulatory and commercial environment
  • Excellent communication, escalation and issue management skills
  • Derivatives and Futures knowledge is preferred though not essential

  • The role requires the candidate who can undertake detailed analysis and remain delivery focused. Furthermore, the successful candidate needs to take ownership of all aspects of their projects to delivery and review.
  • All aspects across the people, process and technology dimensions need to be considered to ensure that change is effectively delivered into the organisation.
  • The candidate must have excellent relationship building skills and considerable experience working with external vendors along with an ability to manage sensitive relationships.
