Job Description

A Civil Project Head is responsible for leading and overseeing a construction project from beginning to end, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. Key responsibilities include developing project plans, managing budgets and schedules, coordinating with engineers, architects, and contractors, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
Core responsibilities

• Project planning and management: Developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets from initiation to closeout.
• Stakeholder coordination: Collaborating with clients, engineers, architects, contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Budget and financial control: Managing project finances, including developing budgets, tracking expenditures, and approving invoices.
• Scheduling and resource allocation: Creating and maintaining project schedules, managing resource allocation, and ensuring timely delivery.
• Quality and compliance: Ensuring the project meets all quality standards and complies with safety and regulatory requirements, including obtaining necessary permits.
• Risk management: Identifying potential project risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
• Team leadership: Supervising and mentoring project teams, including engineers and other staff, and delegating assignments.
• Reporting: Preparing and presenting regular project status reports to stakeholders.

Required skills and qualifications

• Education: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field is typically required, with some positions requiring a master's degree or professional certification.
• Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and relevant software.
• Leadership and communication: Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively with diverse groups, and manage client relationships.
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues that arise during a project.
