The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 3000+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy's units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy to date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.
How you'll make an impact:
Participate in the Technical Kick off handover meetings with Project Manager / Tendering
Understand the customer specifications as per the provided customer inputs.
Read through the customer specifications and compliance reports as per the customer requirements.
Always adhere to milestone deliverables (Base Design / SD BOM / Detail Design) as per the project requirement.
Preparation of Electrical and Gas SLD, Layout Plan and Section drawings based on various offer / tender and customer specifications.
Preparation of 3D modelling of high voltage GIS for various substation configuration
Preparation of Guaranteed technical particulars of GIS and HV equipment such as Breakers, disconnectors, GIB etc. for submission to customer.
Delivering all the Detail Design Tasks (Rating plates / Cable / Earthing / Poster / As Built etc)
Participate & contribute DtV Process during the Base design phase for Margin improvement of the Project.
Participate in the Technical Kick off handover meetings with Lead Engineer/ Project Manager / Tendering
Accountable for the On Quality Delivery of the milestones of the project as per the Milestone database
Participate in the customer clarification meetings for the design freeze along with the Project Lead Engineer.
Review of deliverables before submission to Lead Engineer / Client.
Preparation of bill of materials (SD BOMs) and release in the SAP as per the Milestone database.
Providing RFQs to the supplier for the project specific items like Current Transformer / Surge Arrester / Voltage Transformer / Bushings
Preparation of technical documents for procurement of Current transformers and voltage transformers.
Participate in customer meetings as required. Active participation in project review meeting
Active project contribution to reduce the lead time and cost of the offered GIS solution by developing alternate solution as per project technical requirements.
Coordinate / Lead with cross functional teams like secondary / Steel engineering team to organize Steel handover / Secondary Handover
Technical trainings and lessons learned sessions to the team, guide new engineers to perform GIS primary engineering activities.
Able to identify the Risks and opportunities in the GIS Projects
Supports trouble shooting for factory and onsite issues and provides disposition actions.
Ability to do proper root causing analysis for the quality issues and provide proper CAPA.
Your Background:
Years of experience: 6 - 10 years with Bachelors Engineering in Electrical
Proficiency in required CAD design tools (Creo / AutoCAD, 3D competence required)
Knowledge of relevant international standards ex. IEEE, IEC etc.
Knowledge on High Voltage products. Having knowledge on SAP will be preferred.
