The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program. The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy\'s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

Project Engineering focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project including Preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc. Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan; taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the project. May include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for conceptual and detailed design of Container/Portable substations and Metal enclosure design.

Authorizes engineering deliverables acting as the overall authority (coordinating engineer) for applicable engineering disciplines. May act as responsible engineer (design authority) for a particular engineering discipline and complete engineering assignments for that discipline.

Collaborate closely with project installation and commissioning teams clarifying potential issues and solving the site issues and provide correct engineering resolution.

Be technical responsibilities to Standardize and develop templates for the Productization of Container/Metal enclosure designs.

Establishing contacts in order to define the technical feasibility of the new system /solution design & provide technical support to improve material quality and/or to decrease costs.

Technical Obtains prototype product and develops technical tests. Ensure the deliveries as per schedule and carry out regular reviews.

Specifying Interlocking system for system as well as personal safety Knowledge on safety standards on product/system design and ensure safe working procedures and practices are followed at all times.

Ensure that quality process is developed and strictly followed on product/project design to ensure the rework hours are minimum.

Background:

Bachelor\'s degree in Electromechanical Engineering.

Maust have 7-10 years of experience.

Should have experience in layout, electrical clearance Switchgear design/manufacturing of MV/LV control cubicles and panels and AC /DC, Battery systems, UPS, & Power distribution board.

Hands on experience in Design.

Experience in coordinating /supporting multiple teams in remote Locations. Should be Willingness to travel as per project requirements.

Knowledge in ACAD & SolidWorks is essential.

Microsoft office tools such as MS Word, Excel etc.

Exposure to Document management system.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and highly flexible.
