We are currently recruiting for long term career professionals, with an initial assignment supporting Telecommunications projects across the UK. Bechtel has been selected as a Delivery Partner on a £4 Billion programme to bring high speed internet connectivity to communities. The core focus is to deploy next generation fibre infrastructure across the public sector, businesses, mobile operators, and homes. Position Summary: We’re looking for an experienced Project Controls Supervisor to join Bechtel and become a key member of the City Leadership team, leading the project controls management of a Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) project to ensure its delivery to set milestones. This role is the primary reporting function of the project, regularly reporting to senior management on progress, risks, issues, and mitigation actions, as well as tracking the delivery against key performance metrics such as the number of ready for service homes and contractor productivity. The Project Controls Supervisor aligns with the contractor’s portfolio project controls manager and plays a key part in the strategic management of the contractor.
Typical Responsibilities:

• Taking responsibility for the transparent and accurate reporting of the overall status and performance of multiple cities into the wider business
• Enabling the team to deliver on time and to budget through a robust, high quality management process – covering risk mitigation and forecasting
• Providing accurate weekly reporting on progress, risks encountered and/or forecasted, costs incurred to date, capturing WIP (including risk estimations and forecasted cost to complete)
• Ensuring high quality and on-time submission of project controls deliverables from the contractor
• Setting priorities for the project to achieve the successful completion of set milestones, whilst ensuring that KPI’s such as time, cost and quality are being achieved
• Identifying at the earliest opportunity any risks to delivering the budget, supplier and/or overhead cost impacting upon the project

Skills and Qualifications: You’ll have strong experience working as a Project Controls Supervisor and a proven track record in delivering medium to large multi-site client projects, managing capital budgets extending to £20m. You’ll also have:

• Knowledge of construction contracts, particularly those clauses relating to project controls obligations. Experience in collaboratively working with contractors to ensure high quality project controls submissions
• Experience of recognised project management methodology
• Good understanding of telecoms fibre optic networks, or demonstrable willingness and ability to learn
• Ability to confidently present to senior management, clients, and stakeholders
• Ability to negotiate suitable outcomes that mitigate project risk
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
• Full clean driving license
