In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the David & Lucile Packard Foundation, the Children\xe2\x80\x99s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and other anonymous donors.

Jhpiego is seeking highly motivated Program Officer based in various states for its USAID-funded RISE project to coordinate efforts in tackling the growing challenge of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). The Program Officer (AMR) will play an essential role in supporting the implementation of activities related to the project, especially AMR. The position will report to the National Program Officer.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and managerial support for convening workshops and meetings with representatives of the stakeholder organizations for the development of State Action Plan on Containment of Antimicrobial Resistance (SAP-CAR).
• Support the development of SAP-CAR/ operation plans for the identified states aligned to National Action Plan for Antimicrobial Resistance.
• Support in compiling and synthesizing the inputs from various convenings contributing to the development of SAP-CAR.
• Support the planning and execution of project activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Facilitate intersectoral collaboration efforts.
• Support in the organization of trainings of healthcare workers/ laboratory staff on laboratory methods/ IPC and AMS in collaboration with NCDC.
• Provide technical support for implementation and strengthening of AMR detection and surveillance in identified laboratory(ies).
• Support the establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Assist in maintaining accurate documentation of project activities and outcomes, contributing to regular progress reporting.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Medicine/ Dentistry/ Microbiology/ Allied health sciences, or a related field is required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in public health, global health security, pandemic preparedness, antimicrobial resistance or related roles is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders along with strong technical writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to travel for workshops and coordination activities.
• Familiarity with the Indian public health system, newer initiatives in the health sector, and relevant government policies/ strategies particularly National Health Mission, and Ayushman Bharat.
