The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Project Brief:

Strengthening public health education in India \xe2\x80\x93 A capacity development project: Scaling up capacity to educate more public health professionals, while at the same time improving quality of education, requires the development of new innovative approaches and a more considered and evidence-based use of digital educational technologies. This project will strengthen PHFI\'s capacities within digital pedagogy, public health education, and educational research. The capacity development in digital learning will also develop a larger integration with on-campus face-to-face pedagogy and blended learning approach to teaching. This experience in integrating digital and face-to-face learning will strengthen the public health education. The objective of this project is for PHFI to be able to support the education of public health professionals both within its own network of six IIPHs across six Indian states, but also more importantly to support educational institutions in rural parts of the country.

Deliverables:

  • Design and develop online and blended courses in public health, utilizing instructional design principles and best practices.
  • Work in close consultation and collaborate with faculty members and subject matter experts to create engaging and effective learning experiences for students.
  • Work with the project team to understand existing content and contribute to creating multimedia course materials, such as video lectures, interactive exercises, and assessments.
  • Provide feedback on the design and delivery of the training courses.
  • Assists the project team in teaching activities that support online and blended pedagogy.
  • Seek out new development opportunities and actively tracking trends in the online blended learning domain in terms of players, technologies, tools and products.
  • Ensures that the course design is adhering to the quality vision and design standards set by PHFI. Ensure that the final products i.e. the revised modules have: An overall design plan and architecture; a consistent look and feel; design navigation strategy; interactive exercises; required visuals - interactive image maps/videos/flow charts/decision trees/sketches, etc.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about new learning technologies, develop and facilitate workshops, co-design, and provide input on student-centered and activating teaching and learning experiences.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in instructional design, public health, and higher education.
  • Travel as and when required.
  • Any other task assigned by the PI/ Project Director and Supervisors.
Qualification:

Desirable:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree/post graduate diploma in instructional design, educational technology, communication, journalism or a related field.
  • Excellent proficiency in English (writing, reading and speaking); additional proficiency in other Indian languages would be an added advantage
Experience:

Desirable:
  • At least 3 years of work experience in instructional design and with Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Qualified expert with a demonstrated track record in developing educational materials.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and best practices, as well as experience with learning management systems and educational technology tools.
  • Strong skills in reshaping content and turning it into varied and engaging learning paths
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience as a classroom instructor
  • Working experience in Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia and Lectorate for developing courses, Storyboarding
  • Knowledge of public health or related fields is a plus.
