Job Description


Role & responsibilities of Professor / HOD(Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Pharmacy practice)

  • Coordinating with the Head of the Institutions to handle the course Affiliation duties
  • Syllabus Completion report (Logbook) and upcoming syllabi schedule and progress of the syllabi.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting the faculty-specific subject allocation, complete lesson plans, individual workload, and timetables well in advance of the semester/year.
  • To plan and coordinate with the inspection team for the University, PCI, and DME inspections, as well as all other official communications.
  • Ensure academic discipline in the department.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting the Academic calendar well in advance of the semester/year to the principal
  • Coordinate in Admission Duties
  • Suggest the list of books which are to be referred by the students for the subject being to be taught.
  • Act as Mentor for a group of students assigned to you by the head of the department and be responsible for the students proper conduct.
  • Result analysis must be done after the announcement of the results by the university, the results and students attendance details must be communicated to the principal and concerned parents on a regular basis, and their parents must be contacted for parent-teacher meetings to improve the students progress and collect the parents\' feedback report for each semester.
  • Design strategies for improvement of slow learners and steps to implement them by forming a team of assistant professors.
  • Should be responsible for Campus maintenance & Hostel Mess
  • Responsible to collect the student feedback about the faculty members subject wise (for all the subjects taught to the students in their branch) and communicate the feedback to the concerned faculty members in the stated format as decided by the principal. Communicate a copy to the Principal & NAAC Team.
  • Researching and contributing articles in UGC recommended / SCOPUS
  • Prepare proposals and apply for research funding from central / state funding / non-government agencies for at least one minor project.
  • Steps to be taken for Collaborative activities for research, Faculty Exchange, /students Exchange / Internship for year wise with the concerned MOU & Value-Added Courses.
  • Assisting with the training and recruitment of Professors/Associate & Assistant Professors.
  • Coordinate with the Institutions Head to handle various departmental duties.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Qualification required as per PCI Norms (M.Pharm with Ph.D)
  • Should have minimum 15 yrs of work experience in NRIF / NAAC Ranked Institutions
  • Should have minimum 3 years of experience as Professor in NRIF Ranked/ NAAC Accredited Institutions
  • He/She should know the regulation of The Dr. MGR University & PCI
  • Should have vast knowledge in research programme
  • Should have vast knowledge in Academic and Administration.
