Job Title Professional, Software Development Engineering

What does a successful Software Development Engineer do at Fiserv:

We are a Product company with several flagship products used by some of the largest banks in the world, and we are looking for a J2EE Technical Lead to join our Risk & Payments processing development team. In this role you will work in an agile environment delivering software solutions utilized by internal and external customers. The candidate should have a passion for development and possess deep development skills in the J2EE code base. As a software development Tech Lead, you will be responsible for developing, unit testing, reviewing, mentoring associates and integration tasks working within this highly visible client focused web services application. Development efforts will also include feature enhancements, client implementations, and bug fixes as well as support of the production environment.

This position will require close collaboration with the product owner team, project managers, and the testing QA team. The code will be developed and tested in the same two-week sprint. A successful candidate will have a motivation to achieve team results, the ability to learn new technologies, and grow to understand the financial services industry.

What you will do:

• Minimum 6 years of experience with software development
• Must have completed minimum 2 years as a Sr. Software Engineer with good track record in terms of delivery excellence and application / product knowledge
• Must have hands on experience on Java, J2EE and PL-SQL programming, design & Architecture
• Must have the ability to be an individual contributor and provide technical guidance for the development & product team.
• Must be comfortable with rapidly changing and/or loosely defined requirements that are refined over time.
• Has demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies, quickly and effectively.

You will need to have:

• Work with Product Owners & Architect to apply right design, framework etc. for an optimal solution
• Work cross-functionally with other team members: other engineers, business analyst, QA, Ops & RM
• Mentor junior engineers, new team members, and apply technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems
• Conduct code reviews and code remediation

• Managing code quality in terms of code practices and design.
• Requirement and impact analysis either for new business requirements or for modifying existing application
• Perform additional duties as determined by business needs and as directed by the manager.
• Should be able to provide insights to the managers on prioritizing the tasks and demonstrate commitment to complete them.
• Should be able to comprehensively report and update the Managers and leadership (if required)

What will be great to have:

• Finance or Payments domain experience
• Hands on experience on Monitoring tool like Splunk would be an added advantage.
• Having worked in an agile development environment would be a plus.
