Product planner is the custodian of the competitiveness of their segment, and leads the development of future product plans, roadmaps, specifications, variants and trims.
Involved in analysis of market dynamics, customer requirements, technology trends to create one-voice on product positioning, pricing, volumes and supports the business case.
Key Responsibilities
Crafting Initial Product Concepts (IPC) and Target Finalization for the model:
Benchmarking competition models by riding from customers usage point of view
Key learning areas of Base/ previous model
Lead the co-ordination with key stakeholders to ensure product deliverables are met throughout development:
Providing Business Case inputs
Creating one-voice on product and pricing with S&M
Hands-on product evaluation and providing feedback
Defining market research requirements and identify customers unmet needs. Coordinate with the research group:
1. Support in all research activities
2. Capture customer requirements, technology trends & translate into actionable product inputs
Skills Information
Very strong data analysis, presentation skills and business acumen
Good in stakeholder management
Should have Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills incl. conflict management
Should be a good team-player
Education
Relevant Experience
B.E./ B.Tech
MBA preferred
Minimum 3 years Hands on experience in Product Planning and Development, Market Research, Product Management.
4 to 8 years of Total Work experience in marketing /product planning/business planning
