Job summary
Do you love building and solving problems to make the world a better place? Through Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) program, we support young students (and their teachers) with opportunities to explore careers in tech industry and learn computer science through high quality real world learning experiences. We're looking for a Product Manager to join our team to lead the Career Exploration Initiatives including our signature Class Chats program and to build short learning experiences to introducing students to the basics of computer science.

Key job responsibilities
You will be the single threaded leader for one of our signature career exploration product, Class Chats. Class Chats are virtual career talks that connect passionate Amazonians with students from classrooms across the country to inspire them to continue pursuing computer science education opportunities. Apart from managing the day to day operations of Class Chats program, you will lead the experimentation and roll out of new career exploration opportunities that will delight and inspire our customers. You will drive company-wide collaboration with volunteers and leaders, build lasting relationships with teachers, schools, and educational non-profit partners, and collaborate with internal teams to enhance processes and create tools to scale the program. In addition to class chats, you will build new offerings for introducing students to the basics of computer science through short but immersive learning experiences. Through these experiences, students use code to make music, program robots, explore space, connect with industry experts, solve real-world problems and much more. These experiences make students familiar with the technology that drives our world and demystify careers of the future and most importantly, bring confidence in students that no career is beyond their reach.
This role requires an equity champion who understands that today's educational system reflects decades of structural discrimination. While many stakeholders are committed to closing the opportunity gap, achieving the CS educational equity we seek at the speed students deserve requires knowledge in the space. As these programs are our deepest educational equity investments to support students and educators, this opportunity requires excellent communication and product management skills, the ability to navigate ambiguous environments, dive into details and see the big picture. Given the start-up nature of this team, candidates must be builders and no task can be beneath them.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution and scaling efforts for our virtual career talk program, including handling day-to-day efforts, iterating on current processes and tools, and driving innovation for efficiency and impact across the program
  • Lead teacher recruitment strategy to reach students most in-need of CS education role models, including utilizing data to determine the most effective channels/tools
  • Partner with tech teams (internal and/or external) to drive requirements gathering and roadmap for class chat scheduling tool that enhances customer experience and increases scalability of program reach
  • Collaborate with our Employee Engagement team for company-wide volunteer efforts to increase capacity of Class Chats offerings for teachers and students
  • Drive design of framework and tool kits, including training and marketing materials, standard processes and quality expectations, external partnership guidelines, etc.
  • Contribute to the vision of CS explore offerings and how it connects to our broader programs.
  • Lead curriculum collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders to scale and strengthen explore offerings, quality, impact, and visibility.
  • Manage content platforms and overall marketing strategy including learning experience provision, website management, email communications, asset creation, and partner management.
  • Collaborate with data lead and other stakeholders to simplify program reporting/analysis and research lead for impact metrics
  • Gather insights/customer driven research to increase impact quality of offerings.
  • Establish cross-organizational goals and mechanisms to engage and inform stakeholders.

About the team
Amazon in the Community (AITC) team in India leads Amazon's India corporate philanthropic initiatives, primarily focused on undeserved underprivileged young people. Our flagship programs include Amazon Future Engineer and Disaster Relief. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience in product management
You may have experience working in or championing computer science or STEM learning for school age learners including career exploration offerings and/or leading education-related employee engagement initiatives. You will be able to collaborate with an inherently cross functional set of internal and external stakeholders that could range from Amazon business teams to educational non-profits.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience owning and driving customer facing products or programs.
  • Strong project management skills of breaking down tasks, simplifying plans, establishing owners and timelines, and status reporting
  • Ability to work across multiple teams to create scalable, simple and effective processes that help teams become more efficient and set the right expectations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Build collaborative relationships with program/product leaders on other teams.
  • Self-starter, with proven experience of working on programs/products independently with minimal oversight.
  • Innovative; loves to challenge status quo and improve on behalf of our customers and partners
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience delivering customer-facing software in a high growth environment
  • Experience leading company-wide employee engagement initiatives, preferably related to education
  • Demonstrated experience in creating learning products for young people, especially with a focus on equity.
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience in taking software products to markets and iterating the product using customer feedback
