Job Description


Support the development process for assigned apparel, accessory and/or equipment category by collaborating closely with product developers, liaison offices finished goods manufacturers and or raw material vendors to ensure that products are commercialized within established timelines improving the efficiency of the processes and system mandated tasks.

  • Responsible for the Seasonal Buy Ready process and successful execution of commercializing early buys. Collaborate with PDX Developers and LO Merchandisers in collecting data through PowerBi tools, audits and metric that informed them on the seasonal development deadlines.
  • Responsible for the sales sample BOM freeze and distribution of exceptions.
  • Responsible for the collection of data to measure seasonal FGV Development Rating through established KPI\'s.
  • Responsible for the tracking of the PDX Merchandising Proto Sample, Top of Production and seeding requests.
  • Responsible for maintaining data in PDM (Product Line Management) tool and StyleZone (Visual Collaboration Tool)
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of the Product Development Calendar Dates.
  • Responsible for the Product Development audit reports (Zero Usage, BOM Complete etc)
  • Responsible for commercialization operation activities that occur across regions (Proto Fabric Needs Report, Sew Label execution and packaging)
  • Manage ad hoc requests that affect Product Creation and assists the team towards the most effective approach.
  • Responsible for the collection and entry of product data to support mandatory compliance protocols (EU PPE and China GB)
  • Responsible for the collection and entry of product data to support mandatory compliance protocols around Import Classification Codes associated with garment weight
  • Communicate via email and PLM system all FGV style development information to the appropriate liaison office keeping them abreast of progress and changes.
  • Support established Columbia Sportswear quality standards.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor\'s degree specializing in related field and 2+ years of experience in apparel Operations, Product Development, Merchandising or Project Management. 4+ years of experience without degree. Experience directly related to Apparel Product Development required.
  • Possess strong understanding of Product Management systems, the flow of data/information, and how to leverage reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure, meet strict timelines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of Apparel Product Creation and the accountability of each function involved in commercialization including factories and overseas partners. Advanced understanding of end-to-end Manufacturing process and Supply Chain. Ability to plan/organize resources and effectively utilize them within team.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to deal with various levels of management and employees within the organization as well as vendors and worldwide personnel. Ability to negotiate deadlines with cross-functional partners.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY This job has no supervisory responsibility. JOB SCOPE Complexity is created through the dynamic nature of the apparel industry. Constant changes occur in fashion, construction, trade regulations and the economy. Changes also occur internally with line plans which include last minute changes to: fabrics, colors, styling, delivery, wholesales and other related style specific areas. Operates from mainly established procedures, but may develop policies and procedures for continuous growth. Work consists of assigned strategic goals or projects over extended periods of time with minimal supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed company policy guidelines and constraints. Complexity is also inherent in managing global market needs and establishing tools and services for multinational markets. JOB CONDITIONS Job may require hours that at times exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week during peak periods. Physical ability to use telephone, computer hardware/software including keyboard, type, sit and stand for extended periods of time, and occasionally lift/carry up to 10 pounds.
