Job Description


Primary Process Safety responsibilities are for the safe operations of the Ankleshwar plant. Specific responsibilities include: Guide site associates on PSM standards, procedures and forms development & deployment. Coordinates the monthly/Quarterly safety committee meeting, Contractor Safety, Apex committee meeting and PSM meeting. Provides leadership, counsel and technical assistance to operations managers, technical advisors, maintenance manager, EHS specialists, plant engineering, and hourly plant personnel in the field of process safety management to attain production, quality, cost, safety and environmental goals. Develops and implements key performance indicators (leading) to track Process Safety Systems performance on an appropriate frequency. Reviews Corporate PSM procedures as guiding documents develops site specific procedures and implement them along with Heads of Department (HOD s). Act as the Site Process Safety champion and lead the Process safety journey at site Leads the PHA s at site, initial, their revisions, and revalidations. Ensure recommendations are tracked to completion and documented appropriately. Acts as coordinator for Process Safety incident investigations at site, manage and track recommendations generated. Ensures Process Safety trainings programs are in place, toolkits are available and implemented throughout the site. Actively engages operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel in process safety topics. Oversights Process safety metrics to monitor Process Safety performance Assists site with the assessment, mitigation, and prioritization of process safety risks Interfaces with regulatory agencies, monitor potential Process Safety related regulatory changes and modify procedures to align with regulatory changes. Assists in risk assessment for capital project development, participate in project review teams as necessary. Develops and deliver training calendar program covering induction, contractor and regulatory to educate the company s workforce as well as contractors/visitors on Process Safety to ensure that they understand and comply with the company s policies and standards. Manages and tracks recommendations and findings from Internal and Regulatory Process Safety Compliance Audits. Support Audit Review Teams to resolve Audit findings and Recommendations. Provides expert guidance on Process Safety related issues encountered at the Site. Keep Site and IOD Management informed of potential issues and non-compliances raised during routine inspections and observations of company records, equipment, laboratories, and general facilities. Takes active support for the control of emergency conditions/situations as defined in the EMO. Conduct periodic mock drill. Periodically audit inspection records to ensure Fire Safety and emergency equipment s are maintained, and requirements are in conformance to the Fire Risk Assessment Associate must conduct at-least 10 (8 hours) trainings as part of knowledge sharing and educating team members. List of Topics and duration should be sent to the Training Department for incorporating the same in annual training calendar. Additionally, serve as a resource and member of the global IOD Process Safety CoE team. Provide technical support to other locations in IOD as needed, especially those located within the APAC region. Participate on audit teams at other IOD locations. Required Knowledge/Skills: Service-minded and good communication, Computer Literacy, Management system, Comprehensive knowledge of local, national & international Health, Environmental & Safety codes & practices. Self-Development Orientation, Leadership skills, Developing others, System approach. Good knowledge of Incident Investigation technique preferable, Taproot and/or Apollo methodology training and experience desired Experienced in PHA s using HazOp, What if and LOPA methodologies. Knowledge of OSHA process safety management standard is preferable. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) Good written and Spoken English. Working knowledge of PHA Pro software application is preferable. Required Experience: 10 years experience in chemical process or petrochemical industry Required Education: Bachelor s Degree in Chemical Engineering with Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (or any other safety course recognized by Ministry of Labor, Govt. of India).
