Job Description

The Cloud Solution Architect should have:
Solid understanding of Cloud Connectivity and Security services and provide architecture designs for those solutions
Ability to drive proof of concepts of existing or new services on AWS or Azure as business needs arise.
Ability to drive architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment on-prem and in the cloud
Ability to provide thought leadership for on-prem and AWS services and capabilities
Have an understanding of AWS, SaaS or PaaS integration solutions and how those interact within with our Cloud solutions (e.g. AWS) and our on-prem solutions
Individuals in this role must provide leadership and guidance on solution options and trade-offs, to business partners and development teams and should:
Design, Develop and Maintain cloud solutions, road maps and technical designs.
Oversee design & implementations for medium to highly complex systems and/ or broad scale projects
Translate business needs into technical solutions by planning, developing and refining point of next architectures.
Be able to build guard rails on new service adoption roadmap in coordination with enterprise security architects.

Responsibilities

Use appropriate design techniques and methodologies to perform proof of concepts & showcase outcomes to senior leadership & all stakeholders & convince them with relevant rationale.
Develop current and future state architecture roadmaps. Align and promote enterprise technology principles and strategy. Contribute to and author application and capability strategies. Establish, maintain and apply architecture standards, disciplines and principles.
Design external system interface architecture that includes appropriate application of techniques and standards. Determine integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, security and business/functional requirements.
Maintain deep expertise in architectural modeling, frameworks, emerging technologies, and best practices. Mentor and develop less experienced technical staff. Provide technical leadership in both business-as-usual and crisis conditions. Recommend new procedures and processes to drive desired results on diverse projects. Perform industry research with external parties and maintain networks amongst peers.
Partner with other architects & application development teams to ensure alignment and integration across portfolio boundaries and promote an enterprise focus on applications management. Develop and build strong relationships within and across the lines of business and use effective communication skills to influence and accomplish strategic application architecture objectives.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; or related work experience.
9-14 years of relevant experience required.Broad experience across various engineering disciplines (cloud, network and security) with depth of exp
erience in at least one area and some exposure to cloud delivery in past.Knowledge of Enterprise-wide architecture and ability to 'see the big picture' and how it affects current and future technologies.
Internal/External consulting experience that spans organizational boundaries and includes influencing technology and business leaders.
Experience in the architecture, design, implementation and support of complex enterprise solutions.
Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to explain highly technical solutions to technical and non-technical teams.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to set direction and lead teams in implementing complex architectures.
Strong analytical skills to be able to break down complex problems and design appropriate solutions, leveraging industry patterns where applicable.
Exposure to cloud technologies AWS (must have) / Azure or Google (optional/ good to have). Related cloud solution architect certification will be good to have.
