As a Principal Engineer, you will be a member of the Engineering/R&D software team working.

You will be responsible for development of automotive grade consumer software, collaborating with the teams on the High-level design, meet the business goals in terms of time, quality, and cost.

Automotive industry is going through a radical change. We are looking for people who have the curiosity to continuously monitor global/regional market dynamics and technology trends, work with product management group to define the possible future products which we should pursue for the automotive industry.

Senior Principal Engineer is responsible for Software bring-up & feature enablement, software configurations for Intelligent Cockpit Platform Group. Responsible for developing and maintaining different software functional modules from the common platform codebase and migrating software to the new kernel versions and Android pastries. This role seeks a strong technical individual contributor with experience developing core system-level software for embedded products.

Your Team

You will report into Senior Manager, SW. While this is an individual contributor position, you will be expected to lead with influence and work with a cross-functional team members drawn from all relevant functions within the business in a matrix organization. This team will be empowered and aligned around company objectives. Excellent communication and leadership skills will be key to success

What You Will Do

• Work out the Software Architecture or High-level design with end-to-end solutions to meet product requirements. To start with but not limited to, this product will be based on Apple based technologies for automotive sector such as CarPlay, iAP2, Ferrite.
• Projection Software bring-up, Feature enablement for Intelligent cockpit platform products.
• Work closely with Apple teams and other internal cross-functional teams, including software and hardware engineers, to integrate features and customization into the Cockpit system.
• Keep track of the latest technological updates of Projection, Media Casting and Connectivity technologies
• Define modularity/scalability/reusability and abstraction, what constitutes robust and measurable software KPI.
• Would be responsible for taking necessary initiatives to improve software development process/tool for ready upgrade product line.
• Would need to guide, mentor, or coach team members and developers to get the best of them.
• Leadership, Collaboration, Change Orientation, Judgement, and Results Driven are most critical to this role to achieve business target.

What You Need

• Experience in product development life cycle. Should have been part of the team delivering one or two products to the market in the past 24 months.
• 12+ years of experience in software development in embedded systems, focusing on Android, Linux, and QNX.
• Should include 5+ years of experience in leading and growing technical teams. And should possess 3+ Experience in Android Automotive OS
• Strong C, C++, Java programming skills
• Experience in Android system and framework development and debugging.
• Experience in system performance measurement and optimization
• Bachelor or Master\'s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electronics Engineering

What is Nice to Have

• Experience in Automotive Industry
• 5+ years of experience in CarPlay and iAP2
• Very Good Knowledge and Experience of both C++ and Android Java
• Experience with program management tools like IBM ALM, Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc.
• Agile experience
