Our company values help guide us on that journey. Bangalore Embedded Electronic Systems department is a division of Global Core EES at Volvo Construction Equipment. We design the Software solutions of the current and future machines with the purpose of making them more efficient and environmentally friendly. Role Description: Would you like to be a part of the team developing the platform for the best construction machines in the world Within the area of Core Technology Embedded Electronic Systems, we are looking for a person to work with the development of the software platform and have the drive and the passion to contribute to great teamwork to meet future challenges. In our department, we develop and maintain the base software and common functions (Software Platforms) which is used in a majority of Volvo CE products such as for example Wheel loaders, Haulers, Excavators and Pavers. The software platforms are written in C and C++ and some part is generated from script tool as Python. The platforms are used by our Product Platform (e.g. Wheel-Loaders, Haulers) to run their application software which is mainly developed with model based tool such as Rubus ICE and Matlab/Simulink. Main Tasks : Have operational responsibility for maintaning platform software, manage and adress customer field issues, involve in addressing obsolescence of the E&E platform Lead, drive and execute design and development of the current and future generations of platform software Drive the development from research/early phases of development to product maintenance and apply for patents on innovative areas. Front-load work to ensure robust early-stage releases and stable late-stage releases. Ensure new designs fulfill business targets, requirements, and Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Feature targets Have a holistic view of deliverables from other interfaces to secure quality & readiness before release. Manage area of responsibility by learning and applying applicable tools Manage networking across the organization, as well as influencing the work in other sites Develop and share acquired competence (e.g. training) and provide technical advice Manage, mentor, and guide the team deliveries as a part of engineering leadership. Contributes to innovations or technologies that are regarded as important advances in the field. Set examples of , engineering leadership & encourage engineers for the same. Taking Initiatives at Commodity/Dept./Site level for Continuous Improvements Look for More Efficient Ways of workings on regular basis. Emphasize the Business Value. Delegation in the team incl. Resp. & empowering the team. Assist Group Manager Resource & workload planning, recruitment, and budget securement. Guide and mentor team members, Support New employees in assignments. REQUIRED EDUCATION Masters / bachelor\'s degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, TRAINING 12+ years of experience in the automotive domain with hands on the low level software developement Strong knowledge of EE architecture, 16/32 Microcontrollers, BSP and RTOS concepts Excellent C, C++, python and assembly programming and debugging skills. Experience in platform software maintainance, analysing and solving field issues is a plus Familiarity with AUTOSAR (Classic and Adaptive) concepts, hypervisor, architecture, specifications, and configuration tools like GENy, Candela Studio, Davinci Configurator Pro. Knowledge of automotive communication protocols UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, CANFD, LIN, ETHERNET etc Knowledge o higher layer protocols like J1587, J1939, J1850 , KWP2000, UDS 14229 etc Knowledge of ISO standard 26262 Knowledge of tools like Canalyzer/CANOE, CANape, debuggers, flashing tools etc Working with Agile teams and familiarity with toolchains like Jenkins, Clearcase, GIT, JIRA Comprehensive knowledge of SAFe Agile Way of Working and mindset is a plus.
