The Principal Analyst - Steel and Raw Materials Markets will apply solid analytical capabilities and knowledge to enhance Wood Mackenzies analysis and services to customers. Reporting directly to the Head of Steel and Raw Materials, you will be responsible for developing a good understanding of our clients interests and providing frequent, rigorous, and sharply written analysis as part of our publication schedules. You will also lead innovative and differentiated trends, insights, and thought leadership articles and publications. The analyst will communicate regularly with clients as well as internal stakeholders, sharing our views and engaging in mutually beneficial communication. Main Responsibilities Provide comprehensive and thought-provoking research on the steel and iron ore sectors with a focus on Asia Pacific region. Strengthen and maintain our proprietary demand-supply country models for the steel sector. Analyse decarbonisation trends shaping the steel and raw materials industry. Provide insightful market analysis on steel and raw materials prices for our short and long-term publications. Author differentiated market analysis and thought leadership pieces on topical themes shaping the ferrous space. Develop and maintain contacts with industry stakeholders to gather intelligence that will enrich the quality and timeliness of our research solutions. Effectively communicate our research and analysis to clients. Participate in supporting sales and marketing activities including events. Collaborate and work with our consultancy business on periodic projects. Work closely with colleagues in allied groups like energy to help shape the company s integrated view. Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Mining/ Geology/ Metallurgical Engineering or Economics/ Business etc.) Detailed knowledge of ferrous industry, especially steel and the wider metals industry Excellent numeri
