Job Description


Job Overview: Good knowledge in all aspects of general accounting (incl month close activities, inter-company, account reconciliation and reporting). Responsible for managing a team of R2R accountants (based out of our FSS Center in Chennai, servicing one or more of our global locations) and processes; adherence to company policies and procedures; and, promoting a positive team environment



Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution of R2R activities assigned to the team, including US GAAP, HFM, account and balance sheet reconciliations, inter-company billing & settlement, recording monthly accruals/ amortizations and other cost journals, hedge accounting, supporting tax filings and tax reconciliations
  • Responsible for handling month end, quarter end, year-end processes and ensure books are closed on time
  • Manage designated teams and be responsible for their functional and administrative deliverables
  • Ensure all month end activities are completed within agreed time and of the highest quality and ensure that team metrics/KPIs are met
  • Support various internal and external audits relating to R2R activities
  • Provide timely and effectively communicated responses to internal and external inquiries
  • Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the R2R function, in accordance with records retention policies and procedures
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager (FSS) \xe2\x80\x93 R2R


Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Chartered Accountant with 8+ years of work experience
  • Experience in working for a global organisation preferably with engineering companies in the oil & gas sector
  • Experience in transition management preferred
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems required
  • Should have supervised teams of 20+ team members being majorly responsible for hiring, productivity, attrition and performance management
  • Should demonstrate process improvement mindset and experience in driving process improvements
  • Good knowledge of Hyperion (HFM) and Smartview would be an advantage
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written)
  • Strong presentation skills and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point etc.)
  • Demonstrate excellent people management skills
