The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more. Objective Alstom is seeking an Power Supply (POS) Design Manager. This individual will be responsible for on-time Design submission by their operational team. Responsibilities Establish and Review basic and detailed design documents for the project Technical Interface Management with internal and external stakeholders Technical Interface Management with Hydro One (HONI) and IESO Technical management of suppliers and subcontractors Signing off all POS design submissions Provide support on Power Supply (POS) topics to System Engineering team Provide support on Power Supply (POS) perimeter to Installation teams during Construction and Test & Commissionning Respect of Engineering Management Plan and Design Quality Plan POS global performances Requirement development, coming from reference and applicable documents from Metiers, Standards, local practices, Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer, and for transverse requirement allocations to the various subsystems in close collaboration with the relevant specialists Respect of normative references and local standards rules Integration of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety (RAMS) requirements Integration of Operations & Maintenance requirements in POS Design Functional analysis and specification Definition of the global POS System architecture as per the external/internal requirements Definition of High Voltageand Low Voltage Electrical design, SCADA + Protections design and Installation design Consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specifications Efficiency of the transversal studies related to POS (CEM, Earthing & Bonding, etc.) Applicable POS configuration and deliverables list Technical interface with Customer Off-shore Design team management and coordination Preparation of Design Reviews, especially for Gate Reviews Management of all correspondences (letters, minutes of meetings, submittals, etc.) related to POS design activities Definition and review of components technical criteria and management of technical evaluation of suppliers Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) procedures and technical lead during FAT Bill of Quantities (BOQ) elaboration and review Arbitration on architecture definition between the subsystems to reach the best compromise for the POS design Review and getting approval of design deliverables, reply to comments if any The OCS team is mainly composed of on-shore located in Toronto, Canada, and off-shore part located in St-Ouen, France. Reporting This position will report to the POS (Power Supply) Project Manager and operationally to the Electrification Traction Design Manager, managing a team of up to eight. The candidate will liaise with: Engineering: Electrification Traction Design Manager, Central Engineering and Transverse Engineering team Project: Project management team Site: Construction management team Customer, Consultants, External stakeholders Civil Works and Track works partners Energy provider Hydro One (HONI) + IESO Interfacing sub-systems (Rolling Stock, Trackwork, OCS, Signalling, Civil works) Regional Centers Performance Measurements On-time delivering: 100% Compliance to Engineering Work Package: 100% Respect of Design For Quality (DFQ) milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of their Metier Respect of performances of the system provided: 100% The quality of the works performed Educational Requirements Bachelor\'s Degree of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or scientific subjects Professional Engineer designation as per Canadian regulations or in progress Experience A minimum of 7-8 years of experience in electrical engineering A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in multicultural team management Minimum of 5 years of experience in High Voltage Transmission and/or Distribution projects A first experience in AC Electrification in Railway Project/s is preferred Experience ina BIM-integrated design environment is preferred Strong knowledge of electrical basic design and installation, including SCADA system Strong knowledge of Canadian Electrical standards and common practices Autonomy, motivated, initiative, and interested in innovative technical topics Fluent in English, second language appreciated Competencies & Skills Communication skills Interpersonal skills (teamwork and leadership) Decision-making ability Analytical and critical thinking Problem-solving ability Resilience Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrow\'s mobility.
