Role Summary

The PMO Lead is responsible for liaising with the Global teams to act as a Group Portfolio Governance and Reporting Lead for all the business divisions to manage project or programme with Senior Project Managers, Programme Managers, internal and external stakeholders.

Business Functions

The Group Project Management Office (GPMO) team provides support and governance to colleagues requesting or managing a project at EQ in all aspects of PMO\xe2\x80\x98s service, including project set-up, project & portfolio delivery support, project administration, resource management, timesheet administration and reporting. The objectives of the team is aligned under PMO operating model to provide support and guidance with regard to project process, templates and tools and to be the guardian of governance and information hub for the change portfolio at EQ.

Core duties and responsibilities

Successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties

  • Liaising with Global stakeholders via emails and calls to ensure smooth and efficient completion of joint tasks and deliverables
  • Support group portfolio governance to manage requests, evaluating for completeness, facilitating assessment and ensuring the necessary authorisations are obtained
  • Support Project Managers & Divisional CEOs to establish appropriate project governance and assist throughout the project by administering divisional change boards and collating / producing project status reports
  • Work with Project Managers to structure and plan project deliverables during project initiation and maintain (as appropriate) the plans throughout the project
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects (to agreed requirements/budget/timescales and quality) by tracking progress and recommending remedial action when project outcomes are jeopardised
  • Work with Project Managers to identify, report and manage (as appropriate) project risks, issues, assumptions & dependencies
  • Facilitate the governance meetings and publish the meeting minutes/actions.
  • Support Project Managers to manage project budgets including the production of financial reports
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, suppliers and clients
  • Provide assurance throughout the project escalating any material differences of opinion over status. Provide evidence of process compliance during project audits
  • Overseeing the operational PMO Team activities and ensure that the team provide a quality core administrative delivery for the EQ PMO and wider group in respect of all activities that are undertaken / completed
  • Line Management of the PMO Team in respect of pastoral care, performance management and personal development in line with EQ core values
  • Work with cross functional back office teams, e.g. Finance / HR to coordinate the alignment of core MI across multiple business areas
Skill Attributes and Behaviour

Successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills and behaviour
  • Bachelor degree in business or other related subject
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong MI & Reporting Skills
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel & Power Bi
  • MS Project & MS Visio Knowledge is preferable
  • Willing to work in UK shift
  • Effective time management skills with proven ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Should be a good team player, highly motivated and ambitious
  • Can work across business and IT functions effectively
  • Proven experience of all core elements of PMO \xe2\x80\x93 Project Governance, Controls, Reporting, Finance, etc.
  • Demonstrable Track record in working within a delivery Project Management / PMO function in a software consultancy or similar organization
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to liaise confidently with a range of external and internal stakeholders
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to positively influence, negotiate and challenge supportively and effectively where appropriate.
  • Knowledge of Project Management lifecycles and methodologies. Formal qualification (e.g. Prince 2, PMP, CAPM) would be advantageous.
